Emergency Repairs

The emergency repairs page provides guidance on what qualifies as emergency maintenance and what to do in various situations:

  • Water leak – turn off the water at the mains; if water is leaking from the roof, place a bucket underneath and contact your property manager.
  • No hot water – check that the power or gas is on and that the hot-water system is switched on.
  • No electricity – check the safety switch and the fuse box; if the problem persists, contact the property manager.
  • Gas leak – turn off the gas supply and contact the gas company.
  • Locked out – tenants are responsible for gaining entry; a locksmith’s details are provided.
  • Blocked toilet – if there is only one toilet, this is considered an emergency; contact the property manager or emergency plumber.
